Billie talks about living with her parents, being nominated for several Grammys, performing at the American Music Awards, being competitive with herself, why she’s looking forward to turning 18, dealing with fame, trying to be present, going on tour, her friendship with singer Jessie Reyez, and Jimmy proves how old he is with some questions for Billie from way back in 1984 - when he was 17.

I felt sad after watching this too. I used to feel current, I used to be "with the times" and know everything, but now all that knowledge is obsolete and nothing matters. Young people exist in their own generation bubble and don't care about what came before. I feel like my whole life was for nothing.

There are plenty of people in their mid to late twenties who wouldn't know Van Halen or Run DMC.

Yeah. She is NOT 17. Hollywood is a joke, and they are disclosing their lies. Come on, people.

There are only a handful of guitarists who will be known hundreds of years from now - and Eddie Van Halen is among them. The reason why some Boomers and Gen-Xers are shocked at this girl is because they can't deal with the cognitive dissonance caused by their realization that someone as brilliant and influential as Eddie Van Halen is completely unknown to an icon of today's youth. Given how many people have access to the Internet these days, it's amazing to them how much young people don't know, and they feel she should know. Of course, why should she know? She doesn't represent all young people, and as far as I can tell, she's not trying to. There's no point in getting upset over her not knowing who was on cutting edge in music 4 decades ago. A bunch of folks from 1978 were into Disco music, and even some of those folks failed to hear "Eruption" when it first freaked out guitarists from around the world. Could the kids from the 1970s honestly tell you that they've listened to a bunch of songs by Bennie Goodman or Duke Ellington (from the late 1930s)? Probably not. Is Billie Eilish going to be as influential to as Eddie Van Halen? Probably not, but who cares? We should all just agree that Nickelback sucks (even if they don't) and wish everyone well.

Man he just failed to connect with her as a human. Just because she is younger doesn't mean she isn't a complex human you can't have an interesting conversation with.

Sorry, but Kimmel's questions are idiotic. He self-admits he wouldn't know the answers to questions based on 1943. Then what was he expecting? I'm 55...don't know a thing about Billie Eililsh - but I thought she handled herself very well with this moronic line of questions.

i'm 20 and you really should. I would recommend the singles from the self titled or 1984, but the coolest thing is the guitar solo Eruption. The one on the album is good but live is better, listen to the one from Toronto 1995 or New Haven 1986. nobody plays guitar like Eddie!
